Tonight's my first night home since coming back. Now I remember why I've been keeping myself busy. But it was time well spent: slogged through a six-inch stack of mail left over from a month and half of being away, watched a couple of Law and Order episodes, cooked a head of cauliflower, browsed courses for the fall, tidied up my closet, and added some books to my Amazon shopping cart. There are two books I'm dying to get but am undecided on the third book which I need in order to qualify for free shipping.
Am tanning from all the walking around I've done lately. Tomorrow - tomorrow might be the day when am finally free from the shackles of spectacles. No offence to eyeglass-wearers everywhere but I absolutely hate wearing mine, especially when it's sunny and I have to squint into the sun and risk early onset of crow's feet. So after calling a good 6-7 places (who knew optometrists are in so high demand?) I finally found one who had a free time slot ASAP before the weekend. It seems too good to be true though - perhaps he is dodgy optometrist with no patients, hmm.
The jetlag is dragging on endlessly. I don't fall asleep until 4am or so despite waking up at 7am. Argh.
